1. We hereby fully repeal the Affordable Care Act in its entirety.
2. Medicare and Medicaid will be kept in place for the truly needy; illegal aliens and refugees will be exempt.
3. Legislation will be forthcoming to address competition, interstate insurance, and proper government oversight of insurance companies, hospital and pharmaceutical costs, as well as cost transparency. The free market has worked well for this nation and that includes health care.
Signed,
We The People
I take issue with the assessment that “The free market has worked well for this nation and that includes health care.” The ACA and pre-ACA health care periods are not a ‘free market’ examples and you would have to go back some generations to a point where health care delivery in the US resembled a free market.
Insurance companies lobbied for their inclusion in ACA and controlled the terms of participation.
Abrupt termination of health coverage which you advocate seems extremist. Are riots in the streets your goal, lucadora?
No, I don’t want riots at all. Healthcare insurance provided by employers, along with Medicare and Medicaid for the truly needy, was working. Granted, changes needed to be made, and that could happen still, but the government controlling healthcare is not an option to me. America is not a socialist country.
